Something amazing has happened — we already have several wishes on the website!
And the funny part? I haven’t even properly explained how the wish function works yet. So, let’s fix that.
💡 What Is the Wish Function?
The wish function was born out of a simple thought:
“What if players could help decide which games should make it to Europe?”
Many of the titles on Spielradar come from small publishers in Asia, North America, or other corners of the world where great ideas often remain unseen. Sometimes those games are hard (or even impossible) to get in Europe. That’s where the wish function comes in.
🪄 How It Works
If there’s a game you can’t find — not on Spielradar, not anywhere in Europe — you can issue a wish.
All I need from you is:
1️⃣ The title of the game
2️⃣ A BoardGameGeek (BGG) link
3️⃣ A user account on Spielradar (free)
Once I receive your wish, I’ll review it and post it on the website. From there, others can discover it and add their vote with just one click.
When a wish reaches 10 votes, I personally reach out to the publisher to see if we can make it happen.
🚀 What I’m Trying to Accomplish
The main goal? Bring games to Europe — together.
Of course, it’s ideal if the game ends up in the Spielradar shop. But even if that’s not possible, I’m still thrilled when a wish leads to other outcomes:
- A local publisher decides to translate or localize the game
- Another store joins forces to import it
- Or even when a publisher realizes there’s real demand here
Either way, the wish has done its job — it made a game visible that might otherwise have been forgotten.
🧩 A Real Example: Tofu Shifu
Take Tofu Shifu, for example — wished by Sean (Sean Spielt) and many others.
It quickly reached the 7-votes (yes, I could not wait until 10 wished^^), so I contacted the publisher.
And guess what? They said it’s possible! However..
Right now, we’re discussing the minimum order quantity and how to make it work for both sides. If I can’t meet that quantity alone, I’ll reach out to other shops to join in.
That’s exactly what Spielradar is about — collaboration, persistence, and a bit of magic from the community.
🤔 What If a Wish Can’t Be Fulfilled?
Not every wish can come true, actually most will not make it – there is a reason why they are not available in Europe.. Sometimes publishers can’t produce more copies, or people lose interest when they see the final price.
But one thing is certain:
I take every single wish seriously.
Each request gets my full attention — I check possibilities, contact publishers, and try my best to make it real.
To keep everyone updated, I’ll share wish status updates via the Spielradar newsletter.
For a quick overview, you can always check the wish table on the website.

💬 Your Turn
What do you think of this idea? I’d love to hear your thoughts — leave a comment below or send me a message.
And if you already have a dream game you’d love to see in Europe, go ahead and make a wish here.
Let’s see how many dreams we can bring to life together 💫
