This is my very first blog post. And if I’m honest, I’m starting with… 0 subscribers and not a single game has been sold.
That may sound a little depressing, but to me it feels like freedom. There’s no big stage yet. Just me, my thoughts, and the start of a new journey. I’m genuinely curious to see where it will take us.
From Aroshops to Spielradar
Spielradar isn’t my first attempt at building a shop. For the last years, I ran Aroshops, a project that taught me everything I know about selling unique games from small publishers around the world.
In the images below you see me exhibiting (1), collecting really cool games that I still haven’t played all yet (2), and the logo of my beloved company Aroshops (3).

Aroshops was never a failure—quite the opposite. It gave me experience, partners, and a lot of lessons I’m carrying into Spielradar. But there was one challenge: the name. Every time I introduced Aroshops, I’d get answers like:
“Arodrops?”
“Arfolops?”
It was a name that caused confusion—and when you’re trying to raise awareness for a shop, clarity matters. That’s why I believe Spielradar fits perfectly: simple, memorable, and true to what I want to build.
What Spielradar Means to Me
Spielradar is about finding the games you otherwise wouldn’t. Rare titles, indie publishers, cultural gems from across the globe.
It’s not really a “start” for me, but a new chapter. One built on love, on long nights at the laptop, and on the belief that these games deserve to be discovered.
Be Part of the Beginning
If you’re reading this: you might actually be the first one here. And that’s kind of special.
So tell me—what do you think of the name Spielradar? Use the comments, and maybe you’ll go down as the very first person to leave one.
And if you’d like to follow along:
- Subscribe to this blog for updates
- Follow Spielradar on Instagram
- Watch out for TikTok soon (yes, I’ll be experimenting there too!)
Here’s to a new beginning 🚀

Hallo Markus,
Super Idee!
Viel Erfolg mit Spielradar!
Hatte Nokosu Dice gesucht, bin bei dir fündig geworden und habe gleich weitere Ideen “mitgenommen”.
Jauuu. Das freut mich riesig zu hören! Vielen Dank – nicht nur für die Bestellung, sondern auch für die lieben Worte. Als ich das damals angefangen habe, hätte ich niemals gedacht, wie viel Support ich dafür bekommen werde 🙂
