Product Description:
Return to the golden age of Frisian farming in Fields of Arle, the acclaimed two-player strategy game by Uwe Rosenberg. Set in the small East Frisian village of Arle on the verge of the 18th century, this is a game of careful planning, seasonal rhythms, and building the most prosperous estate in the region.
You and your partner each manage a family working the land through the changing seasons. Dehydrate bogland for peat, plow fields, raise livestock, build craftsmen’s workshops, and expand your home — every action feeds into a satisfying engine that grows more powerful as the game progresses. Unlike Rosenberg’s larger games, Fields of Arle is designed specifically for one or two players, giving it an intimacy and focus that fans of Agricola and A Feast for Odin will immediately appreciate.
How to Play
Players alternate placing workers across a shared action space, collecting resources, developing their personal player boards, and building out their estates. The seasonal structure creates natural tempo shifts — certain actions are only available in summer or winter, forcing you to plan ahead and adapt. Over seven rounds, you’ll grow crops, trade goods, and construct buildings, all while keeping an eye on your opponent’s strategy.
The solo mode offers a complete experience for one player against an automa-style opponent. The 60–120 minute playtime scales naturally with player count — a tight, focused session for two players or a contemplative solo game.
